Voytek was born and raised in Bydgoszcz, Poland. In 1992, shortly following the fall of communist rule in his homeland he relocated to Chicago where he resides presently. Even though he left Poland at a very young age he remains deeply connected with his countrymen and is very involved with the Polish community in the United States.

"I love house music..."

Chicago is one of the most diverse cities in the world. It is a stew of cultures, religions, nationalities and languages. Voytek found himself hungry to explore as many different things as possible. In 1992 the local house music scene was blooming with radio stations running daily house music shows. The underground was poking through to the mass media markets and it was infectious. A new lifestyle was born and it was a defining moment and a beginning of a digital age. I live house music, Voytek says. For him it is a way of expression through music, fashion, design and image. Voytek fuses music production and performance, photography and design to create a unique modern landscape in his personal and professional life.

For the love of house

Every dj has humble beginnings starting from playing gigs for little or no money and spending night after night inside or in front of nightclubs promoting their latest bedroom studio mixtures. Chicago is at the forefront of U.S. dance culture, which inevitably brought on more and more competition to the dj circuit. Voytek has been a leader in innovative concept design for event production. In 2002 along with his friend and studio mate Ernst Berlin he organized a series of weekly beach events on the legendary North Avenue Beach downtown Chicago. The series was met with incredible enthusiasm and continued for two consecutive summers. Following this success Voytek had his mind set on bigger things and his hard work was rewarded with a float entry in the inaugural Love Parade in San Francisco in 2004. An awe inspiring weekend later Voytek has found a use for his journalistic skills while reporting on the parade for the heart beat of Ibiza lifestyle, Ibiza Voice. Soon after returning from San Francisco he was invited by XMs Andre Solaris to join the legendary Fuel Crew and he continues to help design, promote and execute Chicagos most interactive and innovative events.

The sound and the future

Voytek is a very musical dj. He is very hard in his judgment of the classification of house. He believes house is a style of music and not a genre of electronic music. And therefore should reflect real instruments and elements of sound associated with those instruments. The leaps that the digital age has made in the last 20 years created house music and is the brilliance of its accessibility. But Voytek believes that a man cannot become a slave of the equipment he uses because then he seizes to be an artist.
